This vibrant festival showcases the region’s rich tapestry of arts, culture, and community spirit, offering a diverse program that caters to all ages and interests. Spanning various towns, including Aldinga, Myponga, Inman Valley, Mount Compass, Port Elliot, Victor Harbor, Cape Jervis, Second Valley, Normanville, and Yankalilla, the festival invites both residents and visitors to immerse themselves in a week of creativity and connection.
Signature Events
Imagine Your World in stories and art – Featuring Mem Fox – Youth & Family
This is a family-focused program that has the support of local schools and the Yankalilla District Council using local writers and artists. Attendees will have the opportunity for ongoing mentorship should it appropriate. The lunchtime sessions are aimed predominantly at adults with speakers such as Mem Fox and Mandy Foot discussing their careers in both storytelling and illustrations in the hope of inspiring children. This will bring together sections of the community that do not usually have the opportunity to interact and create ongoing connections for both children and parents as well as artists, schools and council
Artist Studio Trail Showcase
Art enthusiasts can explore the creative spaces of local artists during the Artist Studio Trail Showcase. This event offers a unique opportunity to meet artists in their studios, gain insights into their creative processes, and purchase original artworks. It’s a journey through the peninsula’s artistic landscape, reflecting the region’s vibrant arts community.
Moments: Spray Painting Workshop with Shane Cook and Adam Tarns
On Saturday, April 26, 2025, Forktree Brewing will host “Moments,” a spray-painting workshop led by acclaimed South Australian artists Shane Cook and Adam Tarns. Participants will learn various techniques and create their own artworks under the guidance of these experienced muralists. For those who prefer to observe, the event also offers the chance to watch the artists in action while enjoying the venue’s food and beverages.
Fleurieu Writers Competition 2025
In collaboration with the Books and Words Group, the festival introduces the inaugural Fleurieu Writers Competition. Open to residents aged 16 and over, the competition invites submissions in two categories: Short Story (up to 2,000 words) and Poetry (up to 40 lines). Winners will be announced during the festival, with prizes awarded to outstanding entries.
Anzac Day Music Soiree
Bring your boogie shoes for a night of music from the 60s to 00s provided by Slipway from Goolwa with guest appearance from well-known local sax artist, Kym Mitchell.
Fleurieu Vintage and Retro Fair
Do you love browsing antique and vintage markets and picking up some great pieces for your home or yourself? For Victorian, art deco, mid-century modern items or perhaps something quirky and kitsch from the 60s or 70s or even something more recent, this is the fair for you. Top sellers from across Adelaide will present their wares.
Hot Food Cool Jazz
A long table gastro event that will explore the relationship between hot food (the spice of life) and cool jazz music (to soothe the soul).
