Green Wood Carving Workshop With Folk of All Trades
November 20, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
$180.00
In this workshop, you will be taught the incredibly addictive ancient art of green wood carving with Sam from Folk of All Trades. You will learn the skills to carve a butter spreader from fresh timber using a whittling knife, as well as learning about trees and their grain structure. Participants will learn the basics of carving; including knife grips, woodcarving principles and techniques, and how to design a functional object. These skills can be put towards carving and shaping beautiful wooden utensils like spatulas, spoons, scoops and much more.
Each person will carve their own butter spreader during the workshop to take home, and have the opportunity to purchase a Swedish-made Mora carving knife to continue their carving journey.
No previous skills are required.
