Do you have artworks by any of the following women artists: Kathleen Sauerbier, Marjorie Gwynne, Dora Chapman, Bessie Giles, Maude Gum, Barbara Storer, Sandra Rose, Jane Price, Linnell Aldridge, Peg Berry or others? Would you be willing to consider loaning your artwork to the Willunga National Trust for the three-month duration of a forthcoming exhibition – Know My Name: Willunga ?
“Know my name: Willunga – will consist of artworks by deceased and “no-longer-active” South Australian women artists in the Willunga Basin (1900 to now)”. It will be drawn from the Willunga National Trust Collection and loans from artists and art collectors across South Australia. The exhibition will tell the story of some of the women artists who lived or painted in the greater Willunga Basin district (from the mouth of the Onkaparinga River, south to Sellicks Beach and east to Kangarilla). This exhibition is being created with the approval of, and co-operation from, the National Gallery of Australia including proposed loans under the Sharing the National Collection program.
Know My Name: Willunga (Part 1) will open on Sunday 28 July 2024 and will be up for three months. The venue is the Art Gallery at Waverley Park Homestead (23 St Peters Terrace, Willunga).
